This years residency retreat was a great success! Special thanks to our program coordinator, Miki, as well as the chief residents who participated to make retreat so awesome. We were sad that our program director, Dr. Epter, had to leave in the middle of the night to catch a flight to the east coast, but it was for a great reason — to receive the ACGME Parker J. Palmer Courage to Teach Award! Congrats, Dr. Epter!
This week, our residents attended AzCEP's ED Doc Day at the Capitol, where they sat down with individual representatives and senators to discuss topics ranging from prescription monitoring databases to nursing scope of practice. They also had the chance to attend committee hearings and network with emergency medicine physicians from across the state.
"Are you ready to train in a program tailored to excellence to help you develop as a leader in emergency medicine? Accept nothing but the best–as do we–from yourself and our program."
– Dr. Michael Epter, Program Director
