Maricopa ED has launched the first hospital-based naloxone distribution program in Arizona. This program, which is sponsored in partnership with Sonoran Prevention Works as well as a grant from Maricopa Medical Foundation, provides take home naloxone kits to patients who are at risk of opioid overdose. Part of this pilot study will also study the efficacies of different educational interventions: written pamphlet vs. video education.
