Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital is a community hospital and trauma center that sees approximately 50,000 patients a year. Our residents rotate for 5 weeks at this facility during their senior year.
Thunderbird hospital is a busy community emergency department that sees over 80,000 patients a year. Our residents rotate at this facility for 5 weeks during their senior year.
PCH is a large tertiary care center that deals with high acuity, high volume, and often complicated pediatric patients. The Emergency Department has 30 beds and is staffed with pediatric emergency physicians and sees approximately 40,000 patients a year. The PICU consists of 60 beds and is staffed by nine pediatric intensivists. The residents spend one month in the emergency department and one month in the PICU during their PGY-2 year.
The Arizona Burn Center is a 19 bed stand alone facility within Maricopa Medical Center. It is the only burn center in Arizona. The residents spend one month in the burn center for excellent burn and ICU experience during their PGY-2 year.
Banner Samaritan hospital and Poison Control Center is the host for a Toxicology Fellowship Program. As part of this program the toxicology fellows occasionally work as attendings in the MMC emergency department and also provide regular lectures to the residents during their wednesday conferences.
