Last night, Channel 12 aired a story featuring Dr. Vijay Kannan, an Emergency Medicine Resident at Maricopa Medical Center, who recently won top honors for developing a disease surveillance project that identified a dense pocket of flu patients in a neighborhood just southeast of the hospital. He and other ED residents (Nicole Hodgson, PGY-2; Anthony Guynes, PGY-2; Samantha Myers, PGY-2) as well as Aimee Mishler, PharmD, teamed up with Phoenix Fire to vaccinate these pockets of unvaccinated adults.
